Madeline Bursell was an intern in the Data Science Lab in 2019 and an undergraduate student from Brigham Young University. She is studying Genetics, Genomics, and Biotechnology. Madeline is working with Rebecca Dikow and Paul Frandsen to assemble and annotate the genomes of two separate species of clouded leopards. Further downstream analyses will estimate species divergence time and levels of heterozygosity. Madeline is very excited to get involved in more research and work towards a career in conservation genomics.
